Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:

The IT Specialist oversees IT support and IT related facility management for various DEUTZ locations. The IT Specialist is responsible for client computing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining telecommunication, web, and IT systems. Additionally, the role is accountable for working at the help desk to provide hardware and software support to internal and external end-users. The IT Specialist will liaise with our global IT organization at our parent company DEUTZ AG and other business units and must be committed to the technical needs of DEUTZ businesses while demonstrating a profound knowledge of information technology systems.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our IT Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

 

IT Support

Some activities are carried out in close coordination and cooperation with the Global IT team:

  • Provide first and second-level technical support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and software updates.  
  • Respond to help desk tickets and document resolutions accurately.
  • Provide ongoing support to end users, including answering questions, resolving issues, and providing guidance on a technical level.

 

System/Network Administration

  • Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Manage user accounts and permissions within Active Directory or other directory services.
  • Perform network diagnostics and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Assist with network security implementations.

 

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate inventory of IT hardware and software assets.
  • Manage the procurement and deployment of new IT equipment.

 

Other Duties

Stay up to date on the latest cross business application trends and technologies.

Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve business processes.

Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between business needs and IT capabilities.

Travel Demands: Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 40% depending on business needs.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

 

MATHEMATICAL ABILITY:

Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Our Business Application Specialist works in the office area, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • Visits in manufacturing assembly and warehouse environment necessary.  Subject to noise, dust, diesel fuel, oil, and extreme hot/cold temperatures.   No A/C.
