Job Summary

The Service Sales Manager is responsible for increasing Parts Sales with existing accounts and prospecting for new accounts in their assigned territory. They will solicit new business and maintain accounts through face-to-face and phone contacts, developing networks and industry contacts, promoting our value-added products and services, and keeping customer satisfaction a priority. The ideal candidate will achieve these goals with exceptional customer service skills and a results-driven attitude. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The  ​Service Sales Manager​ will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: 

  • Communicate parts orders and delivery instructions to counter people while coordinating with the service department on service work. 

  • Actively identify and develop new customer contacts to expand market share. 

  • Assist customers in solving problems and providing technical support. 

  • Act as a liaison between the customer and the company to ensure that the customer’s needs are adequately met. 

  • Keep abreast of new products, competition, and pricing trends. 

  • Coordinate relationships with New and Used Equipment prospects. 

  • Promote the sale of parts and accessories and act as an advisor to wholesale or retail customers. 

  • In conjunction with Credit management, establishes payment methods for service and wholesale parts. 

  • Facilitate the set-up of a DEUTZ account with new customers to simplify doing business together. 

  • Follow up on and confirm customer requirements and orders to ensure satisfaction. 

  • Review special orders and pricing with the manager for approvals. 

  • Deliver orders and pick up returns from customers, as needed. 

  • Effectively and efficiently manage required reports and paperwork (budgets, travel, CRM, call reports, expense reports, timesheets, etc.). 

  • Focus on promoting DEUTZ service, including Xchange engine and parts sales. 

  • Other duties to meet business needs. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  N/A 

 

Travel Demands: Frequent weekly travel within the territory, and quarterly travel to other local and outside assigned territory locations may be required with overnight stays.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required 

 

3+ years of recent/relevant experience with outside sales. 

 

3+ years’ experience in sales of parts and services in the engine industry. 

 

Must possess a valid driver’s license, be insurable by the company, and can operate a company vehicle in accordance with all state and federal laws, company policies, and guidelines. 

 

Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through under tight timelines and pressured situations

  • Capable of analyzing data and interpreting the results to drive solutions. 

  • A high-energy, results-driven individual that is process oriented with the ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office, Word, and Excel 

LANGUAGE ABILITY: 

​​Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.​ 

MATHEMATICAL ABILITY: 

​​Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.​ 

REASONING ABILITY: 

​​Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.​
