Quality Technician I

Job Summary
The Quality Technician will be responsible for completion of inspection and measuring various engine components to ensure compliance to quality. The Quality Technician will use necessary SAP software transactions, blueprints, and gages to perform the job.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Use of internal & external technical standards and component drawings to determine quality compliance of product for PPAPs, Receiving Inspection Flagged Parts & Inspection Requests
- Use of various measurement equipment to inspect product to compliance of standards.
- Maintain records and generate reports on inspection of product as required.
- Support of sorting suspect non-conforming parts
- Supplier 8D processing and review, including supplier communication.
- Support of processing Red Tags into Red Cards/Q Notes & RMAs
- Applying Quality tools, Design of Experiments, Lean 6ỽ Methodology, 8D reporting and 5-why analysis.
- Creating Quality documentation as required
- Other duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements
Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 0-10% depending on business needs.
Minimum Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with reading manufacturing drawings and good understanding of GD&T
- Experience in a manufacturing (assembly) environment
- Good computer skills, experience with SAP or similar system
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with automotive parts
- Experience in Quality Assurance, Lean methodology, or QC education
- Experience with interpreting Geometric Dimensions & Tolerances (GD&T)
- Ability to use measuring equipment
- Basic knowledge of Diesel engines
