Job Summary

The Quality Control Technician I will perform end-of-line quality control processes, tasks, and duties at our DEUTZ XCHANGE facility in Pendergrass, GA. The role is responsible for inspecting engine components and parts of assembled diesel engines according to controlled procedures and instructions. Additionally, the function tests products and services, analyzes results, and recommends improvements. The role is also responsible for ensuring products and services meet specifications while having a trained eye for detail. The Quality Control Specialist I must execute company guidelines and ensure regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate must be reliable and committed while demonstrating in-depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Quality Control Technician I will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

• Perform internal product evaluation (final inspection).
• Product inspections- End of Line (EOL) post-processing.
• Consult and follow up with line leads in identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Create, Conduct, and process data entry & red card processing using SAP.
• Process non-conforming material/finished goods.
• Documenting: Containment, Rework, Deviation from SOP.
• Escalation to QA if required.
• Provide proactive support to the operations department in the execution of the production sequence and associated processes (Worker instructions, non-conforming parts processing, 5S, etc.).

• Ensures products and services meet specifications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Travel Demands: Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 0-10% depending on business needs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with an ability to speak clearly and consult with management and team regarding any foreseen issues.
• Strong time management with a demonstrated ability to work accurately, follow instructions/schedules/timelines and handle multiple priorities.
• Strong teamwork mentality with a willingness to work with the team on accomplishing overall goals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Basic data entry skills with the ability to type required data into the database.
• Basic math and technical skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Write simple correspondence. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.

MATHEMATICAL ABILITY:

Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Manufacturing assembly and warehouse environment.  Subject to noise, dust, diesel fuel, oil, and extreme hot/cold temperatures.   No A/C.
