Job Summary

The Human Resources (HR) Manager oversees the operations of the HR team for our manufacturing facilities in GA, in the following areas: addressing and responding to questions on a wide variety of HR issues, administering the onboarding process, and/or auditing HR compliance; ensures a high level of customer service and service delivery; serves as a key resource in addressing issues, resolving customer concerns; identifies process improvements; builds partnerships with leadership and HR partners; establishes and communicates team goals; ensures high-quality services.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Manager, Human Resources will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:  

Escalation Point:

 

  • Working as a strategic business partner with the plant leadership, evaluate the state of human resources in the plant, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop & execute a strategic vision for the HR function in the plant focused on supporting the achievement of both functional and plant key performance objectives
  • Drive employee engagement to maximize safety, manufacturing, quality, and customer service goal attainment.
  • Develops and aligns HR initiatives to the business strategy, which includes the ability to identify, analyze, understand, and articulate business goals and objectives at the company, plant, and business unit level
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory activities such as EEO, AAP, OSHA / Safety, Worker's Compensation, Unemployment, FMLA, and FLSA
  • Analyze, monitor, and improve diversity administration education, training, staffing, communication, affirmative action planning & development, and diversity culture building (AWA, Work / Family Programs)
  • Enforce HR policies, processes, systems, and reporting activities.
  • Coach and counsel managers and supervisors in the plant regarding employee relations issues in order to enable them to address employee issues at the floor level
  • Manage consistent execution of compensation programs, including merit, bonus, and promotional counseling.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Travel Demands: Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 5%, depending on business needs.

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Human Resources or equivalent discipline required.

10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 4+ years of supervisory experience

Applied knowledge of federal, state, and local laws (FMLA, etc.) and statutes for employment. Thorough understanding and hands-on application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, practices, and standards.

Strong employee relations, full-cycle recruiting, performance management, and training

Demonstrated experience in organizational development, change management, coaching, and communications.

Effective self-management and development, showing responsibility and accountability for growth

Proven organizational skills demonstrating effective planning, prioritization, and timely execution of work

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks under challenging circumstances.

HR Certification, such as PHR or SHRM-CP 

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong knowledge of HR processes and policies.  Knowledge of compliance regulations.
  • Experience delivering on an HR Transformation strategy and program.
  • Experience in effectively leading complex projects and programs involving cross-functional business teams.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a growing team of mid-level managers and develop Shared Services resources.
  • Customer service orientation with the ability to influence others to implement process change.
  • Advanced Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills preferred.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or governmental documents. Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the public.

MATHEMATICAL ABILITY:

Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Manufacturing assembly and warehouse environment.  Subject to noise, dust, diesel fuel, oil, and extreme hot/cold temperatures.   No A/C. 
  • If employee is in the office area, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
