Job Summary

 

The Painter will make sure to wash, paint, and pack finished engines and parts.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Painter will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

· Operate facility paint system consisting of manual overhead conveyor, was basin and pressure washer, paint booth and spray systems, and packing area.

· Mount completed engines to paint conveyor.

· Mask engines per procedure.

· Wash engines per procedure.

· Paint complete engines and various parts as required.

· Use lift and hoist equipment to move engines and parts.

· Prepare engine labels using MS Excel and laser engraver.

· Mount engine to shipping skid and apply tags & labels.

· Confirm production order in computer system (SAP software).

· Maintain attention to detail under varying circumstances.

· Maintain neat, clean, and safe work environment.

· Other duties as assigned.

Travel Demands: Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 0% depending on business needs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Required Preferred Description

X Experience in a manufacturing (assembly) environment

X Experience with a safe operation of paint equipment (paint booth, spray systems)

X Forklift and/or pallet stackers

X Experience with hand and air tools

X Experience with IC engine components

X High School Diploma or equivalent

X Basic Computer Skills

 

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED SKILLS:

· Ability to work in an industrial painting environment using all necessary safety equipment.

· Knowledge of and experience with mechanical components and assembly

 

 

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Write and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL ABILITY:

Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a warehouse environment. Employee will have continuous exposure to typical engine manufacturing environment.

· Warehouse is not a temperature-controlled environment (No A/C).

· Employee will have continuous exposure to enclosed space environment. Use of PPE such as hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toe shoes/boots, and respirator is required.
