Job Summary

The Service Sales Product Manager will identify market opportunities for new and remanufactured (Xchange) spare parts and remanufactured (Xchange) diesel engines for the multiple distribution channels within the DEUTZ network. The Service Sales Product Manager will coordinate service sales efforts and liaise with DPC Branch Managers, Operations Managers, Service Supervisors, Salespersons, Parts Specialists, Technicians, and DEUTZ Engineering to identify market requirements and ensure the service sales requirements are met and schedules are on track. The Service Sales Product Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of service sales projects. The ideal candidate must have a professional mechanical background and experience in product management. This role requires leading project teams of various sizes and working directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales Project Planning :

 

  • Work with various stakeholders within the aftermarket sales group to identify sales and growth opportunities and bring them to market.
  • Analyze sales data to identify potential growth opportunities within the aftermarket.
  • Develop, build, define, and scope service sales projects with the appropriate staff.
  • Create a detailed work plan identifying and sequencing the activities needed to bring a service sales product to market.
  • Determine the resources required to complete projects and successfully launch new products.
  • Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
  • Review the project schedule and product scope with senior management and all other staff affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required.
  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.
  • Coordination with parent company, DEUTZ AG, service team and Xchange team as required.

 

Project Implementation

 

  • Execute the sales projects according to the project plan.
  • Develop forms and records to document project activities.
  • Set up files to ensure all project information is appropriately documented and secured.
  • Monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
  • Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders, including appropriate staff in the organization, on the project’s progress.
  • Review the quality of the work completed with the project team regularly to ensure it meets the project standards.

 

Project Control & Evaluation :

 

  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget, and at the required level of quality.
  • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.
  • Track financial success of the projects.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Individual Contributor.

 

Travel Demands: Anticipated domestic and international travel time is approximately 20-30% depending on business needs.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

MATHEMATICAL ABILITY:

Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Standard PPEs as facility requires- Steel Toe Shoes, Safety Glasses, and earplugs when required.
