Job Summary

Job Title: Planning Manager

Reports To: Director, Supply Chain Management

FLSA Code: Salaried Exempt

 

Position Summary

The Planning Manager will be responsible for purchasing orders for engines for DCA to DEUTZ AG and sometimes other international sources. Additionally, the Planning Manager creates, extends and updates Master Data for engines such as Material Master, Purchasing Info Records. The Planning Manager will partner with Customer Service, Sales, and Engineering to ensure that the correct engines are being ordered from the correct source. Also, the Planning Manager is responsible for Material Management and ensures that sufficient inventory levels in the different warehouses are maintained to meet customer demands. The ideal candidate must have SAP or similar ERP experience.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads sales + operations planning
  • Create and manage purchase orders for engines
  • Create and update Master Data
  • Work with Financial Controlling regarding Transfer Prices and update SAP
  • Interact with DEUTZ AG’s and other suppliers shipping department to ensure timely shipments (sea freight/air freight) to the appropriate destinations
  • Work with DEUTZ AG’s and other supplier's customer service and sales planning departments
  • Ensure that correct EPA nameplates are ordered for special situations; collaborate with Emissions Compliance Dept
  • Enter forecasts in IBP system
  • Utilize other programs such as Jira when required
  • Lead a team of analysts to ensure optimal product flow
  • Other Duties as Assigned

 

Other Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent computer knowledge in MS Office, Word and Excel
  • Utilize other programs such as Jira when required
  • In case automated data transfer is not working properly, manually enter necessary data (purchasing demand, inbound deliveries, invoice verification)

Leads a team

 

Travel Requirements

Anticipate domestic travel of 5% and international travel of 15%, for a total travel of 20%

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, engineering or another relevant field.
  • 3+ years of experience in material planning
  • 1-3 years’ experience leading a team
  • SAP or similar system experience

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Logistics, project management or supply chain experience
  • German language

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
