Job Summary

The Credit Analyst will ensure that customer credit risk is properly evaluated and monitored to optimize working capital and profitability for a specific customer portfolio. This role is responsible for reporting, implementing, and improving processes with the collections and credit functions. The Credit Analyst will liaise with the Director of Credit Management, Credit Manager and potentially accounting, sales, internal customer service, and multiple DEUTZ power center locations. Additionally, the credit analyst will be responsible for developing and supporting reports that define and monitor credit collection activities while focusing on the evaluation/management of risk and monitoring customer payment performance. The ideal candidate must be passionate and highly motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Document and test processes while adhering to company credit policies while reducing risk exposure to improve DSO (Days of Sales Outstanding) 
  • Ensure and monitor pay habit trends by proactively reviewing late payments and providing invoice copies and supporting documents to customers 
  • Organize and coordinate conference calls with customers and the sales team 
  • Collaborate and partner with key stakeholders and other departments to resolve customer issues and bring unpaid items to a satisfactory resolution 
  • Perform credit and collection activities while managing credit holds and order releases as appropriate • Make customer contact to proactively assist in paying invoices as necessary 
  • Review credit applications, customer financials, and credit reports 
  • Establish appropriate credit limits and process credit card payments 
  • Create reports in excel to analyze and organization credit-related data 
  • Perform account reconciliation and assist with month-end reporting 
  • Escalate potential customer issues in a timely manner 
  • Provide periodic reporting to the Director of Credit Management with key performance indicators, trends, and underlying causes of delinquency 
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to solve credit-related problems or discrepancies in our company's records and find solutions quickly and efficiently.

Travel Requirements

  • Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 10% depending on business needs.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in any related field 
  • 5+ years of experience working in the manufacturing field 
  • Strongly demonstrated strategic and analytical thinking. 
  • Large ERP experience required 
  • Exceptional credit review and approval experience 
  • Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel. 

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of SAP Physical Requirements 
  • Office environment with HVAC. Noise level consistent with an office environment.
