Job Summary

The Parts Specialist will oversee the Warehouse Operations ensuring DEUTZ has an adequate supply of equipment and parts with the objective of increasing sales and profitability. The Parts Specialist is responsible for picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and storing materials. The Parts Specialist will liaise with the Service and Engine & Parts Sales team, Field Technicians, intern/external customers, and other DEUTZ Power Center and Corporate locations. The ideal candidate must have strong customer service skills while serving as a DUETZ brand ambassador. The role is critical to leading DEUTZ forward in providing quality retail parts and materials while maintaining competitive quality targets. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The  ​Parts Specialist​ will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: 

  • Sustain and grow $2,000,000 in annual part sales. 

  • Maintain appropriate inventory stocking levels. 

  • Receive and process customer parts orders. 

  • Liaise with Operations Manager and technicians to order parts for engine and equipment repairs. 

  • Assist DEUTZ dealers with the phone, internet, and email parts orders.  

  • Assist walk-in customers with part sales needs.  

  • Quote Xchange engines to customers and dealers.  

  • Must be familiar with all phases of warehouse operations and retail parts selling.  

  • Daily housekeeping of warehouse/retail parts counter and service department parts counter. 

  • Place orders for Engine/Parts stock following SAP guidelines. 

  • Receive and stock freight in hard locations. 

  • Assemble and stock modification kits. 

  • Process receiving documents; prepare Bill of Lading / Airway Billing. 

  • Prepare required paperwork and computer entries within SAP guidelines.  

  • Pick parts/components from stock for production builds. 

  • Perform weekly inventory cycle counts. 

  • Perform annual parts inventory. 

  • Assist with emergency parts callouts as required by customers.  

  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A 

 

Travel Demands: Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 10% depending on business needs.

Demonstrated Forklift experience 

 

Strong knowledge of Diesel engines and their parts. 

 

Familiarity with warehouse operations 

 

Must possess a valid driver’s license, be insurable by the company, and can operate a company vehicle in accordance with all state and federal laws, company policies, and guidelines. 

 

Basic knowledge of (Excel, Word, and Internet skills) 

 

SAP experience or comparable ERP System

  • Office/Workshop/Warehouse environment - working with and around equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts to lift and move heavy items.   

  • Workshop environment- working around chemicals such as solvents, oils, sealants, and paint and noise such as running engines, compressed air, air tools, and other equipment and withstand fluctuations in temperature.
