POSITION SUMMARY:

Our lead will be responsible for all stages of production within the department, while providing exceptional support to staff and area supervisors. The lead will liaise with leadership, other leads, and peers within the facility across multiple departments. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership and self-motivated skills with the ability to train, direct, and provide guidance to team members. They must have a mechanical aptitude and be knowledgeable with engine parts and hand power tools. The lead must have the ability to multitask with a strong sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a candidate who can build great relationships with peers, supervisors, and crew members while representing the DEUTZ brand with excellence.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The lead be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

 

  • Oversees and performs duties specific to the department.
  • Direct activities of the various processes, float, and fill-in for absent employees, as needed.
  • Oversees and ensures that all processes including safety are being followed and the line flow is balanced accordingly.
  • Oversees all stations, inspection, parts identification, and entry in SAP.
  • Check engines for completeness of processes- Need to be a good steward of the product to maximize the components recovered and minimize damage.
  • Need to be vigilant with a goal to maximize the components recovered and minimize damage during, handling, and transportation.
  • Provide technical support to staff, including tools, materials, and training.
  • Train and develop new employees using the DEUTZ onboarding process.
  • Monitor new employees to ensure that they maintain Deutz standards for safety, quality, and productivity.  Monitor and retrain as necessary. Be able to provide feedback on employee performance.
  • Support cross training of employees.
  • Update and maintain training records as required.
  • Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Travel Demands: Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 0-10% depending on business needs.

Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
