- Act as the key integrator between the BU’s commercial, technical, and strategic functions, ensuring alignment of priorities and objectives
- Drive cross-functional collaboration between Strategy, Sales, and Engineering teams to create a holistic business strategy
- Balance financial discipline with entrepreneurial flexibility to seize business opportunities
- Ensure that financial and operational planning work in tandem to maximize growth and efficiency
Scenario Planning & Business Opportunity Evaluation
- Evaluate strategic initiatives and investment opportunities beyond purely financial metrics, considering market potential, technical feasibility, and operational impact.
- Conduct in-depth scenario planning to assess risks, benefits, and resource requirements for new business ventures
- Work closely with Strategy and Sales to ensure new market opportunities are financially and operationally viable
- Support the decision-making process for M&A activities and strategic partnerships
- Develop and defend business and synergy cases as part of the BU’s inorganic growth activities.
Operational Performance & Resource Optimization
- Collaborate with operational leaders to optimize resource allocation, ensuring that capital, personnel, and infrastructure are effectively deployed.
- Develop transparent tracking systems for performance metrics (beyond financial KPIs) to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Identify bottlenecks in business execution and propose pragmatic solutions for operational challenges.
- Ensure financial insights are translated into actionable business improvements rather than just reports
Communication & Alignment with Corporate Finance
- Serve as the primary liaison between the BU and the Group CFO, ensuring clear communication of financial performance, investment needs, and strategic priorities.
- Align BU financial planning with corporate financial objectives while maintaining flexibility for business-specific initiatives.
- Provide structured, data-driven insights to corporate finance to support informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance and financial policies while advocating for BU-specific requirements
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Establish a structured performance review process, integrating financial and operational KPIs.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by ensuring that financial insights translate into business actions.
- Regularly assess BU performance in collaboration with the leadership team and drive initiatives for sustainable growth.
- Ensure transparency in reporting and data-driven decision-making across all functional areas.
What sets you apart:
- Several years of experience in a senior financial position, ideally in the industry.
- Strong analytical skills as well as a strategic and solution-oriented mindset.
- Experience in corporate governance with a focus on growth, efficiency improvement, and strategic investments.
- Confident stakeholder management and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams. Solid knowledge in financial planning, budgeting, and scenario modeling.
