Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY: The New Engine Project Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of developing new engine packages for OEM customers. The New Engine Project Manager will coordinate engine-building endeavors and liaise with Branch Managers, Operations Managers, Service Supervisors, Salespersons, Parts Specialists, Technicians, and DEUTZ Engineering to ensure the new engine requirement are met and schedules are on track. The ideal candidate must have a professional mechanical background and experience in project management. The role requires the ability to lead project teams of various sizes and work directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Planning
- Develop, build, define, and scope the new engine package project in collaboration with the appropriate staff
- Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to complete building the new engine successfully
- Determine the resources (time, budget, equipment, etc.) required to complete all new engines
- Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities
- Review the project schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required
- Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion
Project Implementation
- Execute the project according to the project plan
- Develop forms and records to document project activities
- Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
- Monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders, including appropriate staff in the organization, on the progress of the project
- Review the quality of the work completed with the project team regularly to ensure that it meets the project standards
Project Control & Evaluation
- Source items and cost reduction on new engine packaging
- Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget, and at the required level of quality
- Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
Supervisory Responsibilities: Individual Contributor
Travel Demands: Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 60-70% depending on business needs.

- Strong interpersonal & communication skills with the ability to consult and communicate clearly and concisely with team members, project sponsors, and stakeholders regularly with input and feedback on the project's progress.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster teamwork and collaboration while providing guidance and motivating team members to achieve their goals.
LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
MATHEMATICAL ABILITY:
Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
