DEUTZ is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of innovative drive systems. Its core competences are the development, production, distribution and servicing of diesel, gas and electric drivetrains for professional applications that is used in construction equipment, agricultural machinery, material handling equipment, stationary equipment, commercial vehicles, rail vehicles and other applications.

Job Summary

DEUTZ Americas is executing an ambitious growth strategy -- expanding beyond DEUTZ engine service into a full-spectrum, multi-brand service operation serving industrial engines and equipment regardless of OEM. This model, called Service 360, positions DEUTZ Americas as the premier independent service provider across construction, agriculture, industrial, municipal, infrastructure, fleet, and national and regional rental markets.

The Director, Power Center Sales is the commercial engine of this strategy. This leader owns the sales organization for DEUTZ Americas Service, driving profitable revenue growth across labor, parts, planned maintenance, inspections, emergency response, engine and equipment repair, power generation support, and value-added service offerings. The role requires a proven sales executive who can build and develop high-performing field teams, establish national accounts and enterprise relationships, and translate the Service 360 growth vision into consistent, measurable results.

Reporting to the Vice President of DEUTZ Power Centers and partnering closely with Regional Directors, Branch Managers, Service Managers, Parts, Marketing, Finance, and the Americas Service Strategy and Transformation Office, this leader is a critical voice in commercial execution and a contributor to M&A integration efforts as DEUTZ Americas continues to grow its service footprint.

DEUTZ Power Centers are DEUTZ Americas' company-owned service locations providing engine and equipment repair, parts distribution, planned maintenance, and emergency response services. The Power Centers serve as the operational foundation for the Service 360 model -- integrating DEUTZ engine expertise with expanded multi-brand and full-equipment service capabilities across the Americas

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sales Leadership and Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop Field Sales Managers and Sales Representatives across multiple locations, building a high-accountability, high-performance sales culture.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, conduct regular pipeline reviews, and manage to outcomes -- revenue, margin, conversion rate, and customer retention.
  • Recruit and develop sales talent capable of executing a consultative, solution-based selling model across diverse industrial end markets.
  • Strategy and Revenue Growth
  • Develop and execute annual sales strategies, territory plans, and strategic account plans aligned to the Service 360 growth model.
  • Drive revenue growth across all service lines: labor, parts, PM agreements, inspections, emergency service, engine overhaul, equipment repair, welding, line boring, hydraulics, generator service, and field and shop service.
  • Own the commercial expansion of DEUTZ Americas' multi-brand service proposition by articulating the value of servicing non-DEUTZ engines and full equipment to prospective and existing customers.
  • Identify and capture new market opportunities across construction, agriculture, industrial, municipal, infrastructure, fleet, and national and regional rental segments.
  • Account Development and Customer Growth
  • Develop and manage national accounts, enterprise customers, OEM partnerships, fleet accounts, and regional and national rental relationships.
  • Grow share of wallet with existing accounts while systematically acquiring new customers through targeted outreach, referral development, and market penetration.
  • Foster long-term customer relationships built on consultative selling, deep operational understanding, and demonstrated value -- not transactional price competition.
  • CRM, Forecasting, and Pipeline Management
  • Maintain CRM discipline across the team, including opportunity management, quote follow-up, win/loss analysis, forecast accuracy, and pipeline health. Proficiency in an enterprise CRM platform is required.
  • Deliver accurate sales forecasts to leadership and Finance. Identify pipeline risks early and adjust strategy accordingly.
  • Use data to drive decisions -- pipeline velocity, conversion rates, territory productivity, and average revenue per account are active management tools, not reporting artifacts.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership and Operational Alignment
  • Partner with Regional Directors, Branch Managers, Service Managers, Parts, and Operations to ensure sales commitments align with actual operational capacity and delivery capability.
  • Execute commercial strategy developed in partnership with the Americas Service Strategy and Transformation Office, translating Service 360 growth priorities into field-level sales action and measurable results.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop go-to-market campaigns, customer-facing materials, and market segment strategies that support sales growth.

Other Qualifications

  • M&A Integration and Expansion Support
  • Support M&A due diligence and integration efforts by providing commercial best practices, customer data insights, and input on harmonization of sales activities by partnering with the Americas Service Strategy and Transformation Office on efforts to align commercial operations across DEUTZ subsidiaries.
  • External Representation
  • Represent DEUTZ professionally with customers, trade associations, OEM partners, and industry events, consistently reinforcing DEUTZ Americas' positioning as the premier independent multi-brand service provider

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Leads a team

Travel Requirements

  • Anticipated domestic and international travel of up to 50% based on business needs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree or 10+ years of progressive sales leadership and demonstrated revenue growth results
  • 5+ years leading multi-location field sales teams with direct management of field managers or regional sales leads.
  • Experience in industrial equipment, heavy equipment, diesel engines, power generation, or aftermarket service sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage national accounts, enterprise customers, and OEM or fleet relationships.
  • Strong financial acumen including margin analysis, forecasting, and P&L fluency.
  • Proficiency in enterprise CRM platforms with demonstrated discipline in pipeline management and forecast accuracy.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive-level presentation skills.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in the rental industry (national and regional rental accounts) as a customer segment.
  • Background in multi-brand or OEM-independent aftermarket service environments.
  • Experience supporting M&A integration from a commercial or sales continuity perspective.
  • Familiarity with service lines including welding, line boring, hydraulics, or power generation.
  • Six Sigma, Lean, or continuous improvement exposure in a service or operations environment.

  • Daily concentration, sitting, communication, verbal, standing, hearing/listening, lifting and bending.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
